Every Woman Has A Pair

Katie stared at her reflection in the mirror. What’s the big deal? she asked herself. Every woman has a pair.
Her eyes zeroed in on them, looking for flaws. She shook her head and wondered why women are so critical of themselves and always focus on not being perfect.
She smiled at how their whiteness emphasized the tan she’d worked so hard to achieve. They almost glow in the dark. The thought made her giggle.
She wondered if men would notice. Of course they will! Men have a tendency to stare at things that catch their eye; all women know that.
Katie turned sideways to see how they looked. She knew from her own observations and talking with other women that some seemed to sag in the wrong places while others were firm and tight. Was floppy better than stiff? Her friends had told her that a little up-and-down motion was okay, but too much tended to draw attention.
She walked around, her eyes always on the mirror, to see how much movement there was. She’d heard that excessive movement could even cause chafing in some tender areas.
“Be nice to yourself,” she whispered. “They look perfect!”
She touched the left one, her fingertips sensing the smoothness. “And they feel fantastic!”
Katie walked out of the store wearing a smile and her new white sandals. After all, if you live in the South, every woman has a pair.
